140hours Announces Charitable Giving Program and Alliance with Haven Hospice
NEW YORK and GAINESVILLE, FLA. – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
140hours®, the innovative emerging leader in online art auctions, today announced a partnership with North Florida’s Haven Hospice, one of the nation’s leading end-of-life and palliative care providers with eight offices and four free-standing hospice care centers. Haven Hospice, a registered not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, serves people and their communities affected by life-limiting illness and loss by providing comprehensive, compassionate care, while respecting each person’s needs, beliefs and wishes.
Kicking off 140hours newly-announced program “140hours GivesBack”, the partnership will allow member artists in its online art auction house to donate 10% or more of their artwork sales to Haven Hospice, which has treated and cared for more than 50,000 patients in its network since formation in 1979.

Just tried out a new gesso by Matisse

Hello!
Today I'm reporting on my new experience with Matisse's Black Gesso. I really like it. It's very thick, which can be watered down. However, if working on an abstract painting, applying extra gesso with a palette knife will give you extra texture without having to add paint! So it's more cost effective to do so. You won't have to use more expensive high body mediums to give you the textures you desire. I'll post a photo with final painting using the black gesso once completed.

New Art events starting to abound!

DECEMBER IS HERE! Looks like a few interesting art auction events are coming up! I was very excited to hear that the NY Gallery that  held an art auction event in November will be hosting a new 8 day Pre-Christmas event on Dec.11th on Twitter, 92 hours to bid on international art!
